Dance Trance Talent
Dance Trance Talent was established by owner, Suzanne Zelmer, in 1991.
Dance Trance has been involved in many artistic projects such as: The Get The Show on the Road Lottery TV commercial starring Michael J. Fox, The Crave the Wave Ocean Spray commercial, The Milano Condo project, the Let’s Dance TV commercial and a noise therapy music video. Dance Trance has also supplied talent for Vancouver’s Life and Leisure Fashion Shows, the International Consulate General’s Ball, Wedding Fair, Umbro Canada National Fashion Shows, and Convention Entertainment for Vankeken and Assoc. Oakridge Mall and Richmond Center frequently work with Dance Trance for various fashion shows and special events.
Dance Trance talent can also be seen in numerous television and film projects around the lower mainland. Our talent has worked on the sets of: “Scooby Doo”, “Santa Clause 2”, “Deck The Halls”, “Fantastic 4”, “Nightmare”, “Police Academy”, “The X-Files”. “Millenium”, “Nestle Quick”, Strawberry Shortcake, McDonalds, Gillette, Mattel, Purell, Fisher Price, Hasbro, Chalk.com, Telus, Dannon, Nintendo, Winners, Minolta Color Copiers, “Breaking The Surface: The Greg Louganis Sory”, “Breaker High”, “Drive She Said”, “Police Academy: The Series”, “Nothing Too Good For A Cowboy”, "Dark Angel" and “Saving Silverman" and "The Christmas Waltz", just To name a few.
The Choreographers of Dance Trance are recognized adjudicators for several national and international dance and beauty competitions.
The film and television industry in Vancouver has presented Suzanne with many opportunities to choreograph dance scenes for Caldwell Banker, Mnet, Disney, Minolta, Polly Pockets, Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Bridgestone, Barbie, Mattel and the May Co. Suzanne has had the opportunity to choreograph new pop sensation and winner of “The Next Star”, Victoria Duffield in various Barbie and Polly Pocket commercials. Suzanne has also had the pleasure of choreographing on the T.V. sets of “Breaker High” (Ryan Gosling) and “Nothing Too Good For A Cowboy”. Suzanne has choreographed special events for The B.C. Country Music Awards Show (2004 and 2005 Opening Act), the Life and Leisure Trade Show, Concorde Delegance, The International Consulate General’s Ball, Wedding Fair, Maz ‘n Me’s Dinner Theater, and Umbro, as well as fashion shows for Oakridge Mall and Richmond Center. Suzanne was also the choreographer for “The Rev” Pilot filmed in Vancouver. Suzanne had the pleasure of being Donny Osmond’s personal choreographer on the set of “Dance Star Mickey” in 2010. In 2011, Suzanne had the opportunity to choreograph American Idol’s, Constantine, on Fisher Price’s “Rock Star Mickey” commercial.
Her many performances are not limited to dance; they also extend to acting and modelling. Suzanne’s acting credits began onstage when she played Lola Legs Ladore in Guys and Dolls at Theater Under The Stars. Suzanne has made appearances as an extra on the television shows Highlander, Robin’s Hoods, Strange Luck , University Hospital and most recently in Hallmark’s “The Christmas Waltz” (2020). Suzanne has had acting roles in “Millenium”, “Poltergeist”, and the movies “Life or Something Like It” (with Angelina Jolie), Underworld, and Tricks (as Mini Rogers’ body double). Suzanne has also danced in Macy’s department store commercials. As a model Suzanne has worked with Versace, Romeo Gigli, and Holt Renfrew.
Her roster can be seen in the TV series The X-Files, Millennium, Police Academy, Dark Angel, and movies including Scooby Doo, Santa Clause 2, Breaking the Surface, The Water Game, Aftershock and The Christmas Waltz. They’ve also been involved in several TV commercials including Mattel, McDonalds, Macy’s, Curves Fitness, Fisher Price, Dannon, Purrell, Strawberry Shortcake, Proctor & Gamble, PollyPocket, Hasbro, Nestle Quick, Winners, BC Hydro, and Mr. Strong, as well as Olympic 2010 Commercials.
Suzanne has been active in the convention scene as a performer and a spokesperson. A few credits include: Volkswagen Canada Spokesperson (Vancouver International Auto Show), Frieghtline Spokesperson (Vancouver truck show), and Fashion Show Commentator for Richmond Center.
Suzanne is an experienced judge in North America. She has judged for dance competitions such as USA Dance Classic and Dance Magic in San Diego, Anaheim, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, Billings and Lethbridge. In the spring of 1996, Suzanne was the tap and musical theater adjudicator for the Battleford Dance Festival. Suzanne has adjudicated at the Quesnel Dance Festival (1997), Kamloops Dance Festival (2005), Cowichan Dance Festival (Highland section 2006/2010, Ballet/Stage 2009/2010), and Peace River North Festival (2011). Suzanne has also judged for 5678 Showtime (1997), The North Island Dance Festival in Courtney, BC (1998), Dance Power (since 1998), and Dance Jam Edmonton (2012). Suzanne had the honour of being the ballet adjudicator for the Alberta Dance Festival (2013), a festival which she competed at as a child. Peak Invitational Edmonton (2016) and Alberta Dance Festival tap/stage adjudicator (2016). The highlight of her judging career was adjudicating for the US National Dance Championships in Las Vegas and Seaside, Oregon. Suzanne has won “Top Tap Choreography” awards for her group, “Dancin” (2008), “Hit Me Up” (2008), and “Swingin Rhythms” (2007) as well as top jazz choreographer for “Body Language”.
