JOANNE GIBSON MENZIES
Joanne Gibson Menzies has more than 35 years of teaching experience. She is trained in the RAD, Cecchetti, Russian and Imperial methods. Joanne is a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnical University Canadian College of Dance, Theatre Dept. in Toronto and holds the Teachers Diploma with the RAD and the Licentiate Designation with The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, University of Chichester in England. While in Toronto, she performed with Dance Makers and Capricho Espanol. As director of her own dance school for 8 years and a faculty member of Barry’s School of Dance for 18 years, she has staged and choreographed more than 100 shows. Joanne also holds the 200 hour Yoga Teachers certification and currently teaches yoga in Abbotsford. She loves yoga and has been an avid yogi for quite a few years and has recently designed a workshop series to educate dancers on injury prevention. Joanne is excited to be joining the Dance Trance faculty as of the Fall of 2017.
