JESSICA WOOD

Jessica Wood began dancing in the lower mainland at the age of eight and has

maintained her passion for it ever since.  Her training began in jazz, ballet, and lyrical and eventually she decided to focus her energy into ballet and

contemporary styles of dance.

She went on to train at Simon Fraser University, where she received her BFA in dance.  There she had the opportunity to train in many different styles of modern and contemporary dance such as Limon, Graham, and Cunningham to name a few.  During her studies at the university, she was able to work with many

choreographers within the Vancouver dance community including Wen Wei Wang, Karen Jamieson, Judith Garay, Desiree Dunbar, and Noam Gagnon.

Jessica also holds her certificate in ballet teaching studies with the Royal

Academy of Dance and has been actively teaching ballet in the local area for many years.

She enjoys being able to pass down her knowledge, love, and passion for the art of ballet, and strives to guide her students into their own artistic potential and to be the best possible versions of themselves.

We are very excited to have Ms. Jessica join the Dance Trance family.
